No brakes.... SCARY
Well im driving down the road one day and im coming up to an intersection and i go to put on the brakes and at first they grab and then the pedal goes all the way to the floor, there were cars coming both ways and i dont have an E-Brake so i just floored it and made it through with about 30 feet to spare id say but still scary as hell, now my pedal almost always travels to the floor... Dad and i checked my brakes and in my driverside drum i have a wheel cylinder leaking and he said im getting air in the system.. he would be able to help me but hes gone all the time. Anyone know what i should do, ive got a chilton so i can do it if i just know what im supposed to do.

If you've already got a Chilton manual and still don't know what to do,then I suggest you get someone experienced to assist or guide you through.It'* nice to have brakes that quickly and safely stop 3500 pounds of iron hurtling down the road so you or the people around don't experience that "scary feeling".With brakes it'* better to have guidance the first time around than try to" cookbook" the repair. With a '92 it'* time for brake hoses,the other wheel cylinder and maybe a master cylinder if they've never been replaced.Didn't mean to preach.Just some food for thought.

Here'* what I would do:
1. Pull the wheel.
2. Pull the drum (mallet may be required)
3. Take a high quality picture of the area. Make sure you can see how everything hooks together.
4. Strip the springs and pads and such out.
5. Pull the wheel cylinder.
6. Rebuild the cylinder if you feel confident, Replace if not.
7. Replace the line.
8. Put everything back on.
9. Bleed the heck out of the brakes.
10. Drive slowly to a gravel road and make the brakes lock up.
11. Bleed the heck out of the brakes.
12. Drive slowly to a gravel road and make the brakes lock up.
13. Bleed the heck out of the brakes.
I could do it in four hours with a helper. Your time will probably be double that.
