Default transmission changing

I have a 88 pontiac bonneville FWD with a 3800 engine the transmission went out and Im looking for info on how to change it .... can anyone offer info?

im pretty sure you must remove both the engine and transmission as an assembly, then seperate them

actually you can remove the transaxle without disturbing the engine. Depends on if you need to do any engine work or not if your gonna remove both.

To pull the trans only you'd need an engine cradle--it holds the motor in place while pulling the trans.

It can be done from below and is much smarter than pulling the engine when you dont have to. Did you find anouther trany yet? How much is it gonna cost you?
