oil pressure problems
Hi i've got another problem with my Bonne, ill start from the biginning with this one. about a month ago my oil pressure started being kinda wierd. When idling up to about 3000 rpm, after that the gauge would shoot up and max out past the 80 psi point. nothing seemed to be leaking or anything like that, but she went a bit longer than usual without an oil change and it was pretty dirty so i figured it was just that...nope. right after i changed my oil the gauge reads about 40 psi idle when it was like 28. and if i break 1500 rpms is starts shooting up and around 2500 its maxed again. another part of this is once it gets up to say 3000 if i hold it there the gauge will drop down a bit not to normal but like 65-70ish. i can't find anything online or in the forums that would explain this except maybe the pressure sensor, but it seems to "regular" for that to have died.

Based on the low cost and ease of installation I would go ahead and replace the oil sending unit, even if that is not the issue. When you are working in that area, pull the pressure relief valve out and see if it is moving freely and make sure the spring is okay.
