90 sse master cly
I have a 90 sse with ABS. Dark blue with the gold package. It is a wonderful car. I am having trouble with air getting into the brake system after numerous attempts to bleed them. I believe the master cyl is bad. This part is 1,200.00 to 2,000.00 new at GM. Can anyone rebuild these at a reasonable price?[/u]

I have tried junk yards, and the best price I found was for $225. I am getting it this week. The owner emphasised that this is 13 years old, and is not guarenteeded. :( Once I get the original off, I plan to pull it apart and see if I can rebuild it. I think it is worth the try.

For any one with a series 1 with this special hydro-boost brake assembly I say hold onto your pocket book. These are available through your local salvage yard. However, they are 13 years old and you run the risk of buying a defective unit. An assembly from a Cadilac of the same years will work. The only problem is that the brake rod is shorter then the pontiac part, which makes the peddle to close to the floor. I had to fabricate an extension on the rod to bring the peddle to the right possition. I would hate to see what it would have cost to get a mechanic to do this.
