Speedometer/Odometer question

My parents have a Buick Regal and the spedometer works but the mileage has stopped. Is there any way to fix that? What would it entail?

The easiest thing would probably be to replace it with one from a salvage yard.

Sometimes you can bring them back by just removing the cluster and cleaning the harness pin connector.
You speed sensor is working as the speedo works.
