car just left me stuck?
earlier today my car left me stuck and cant figure why. when i turned the key you would here the fuel pump but he car wouldn't start. got it towed to my house and then i checked if it had spark (using the old spark plug wire check) and it looked like i wasn't getting spark so as i continued to try to figure it out and checked out the fuses and relay on the passenger side fuses ok and forgot how to check relays so i put my hand on it and turned the key to see if i would feel the click in the relay but the car just started up WTF any idea or where else to start checking?

i agree with mike. its either the crank sensor, or the icm if its got no spark at all. unless you have a security light on.

if you have a heat gun you can try carefully heating it, without melting it the icm with the engine on and see if it quits. the crank sensor is pretty hard to get to

delphi or delco are usually the better ones to get, but i think i would see if i knew anyone that had a heat gun i could borrow and test it. the crank sensor isnt that bad price wise but you didnt say what your car was but the older 3800'* with the all in one icm/coils are kind of pricey to just replace. i would look on rock auto and that and see what you want to do. when my ckp went on my 90 it didnt ever give a cel. and when the icm went on my 88 it didnt through a code. most times thats what it is. less likely but possible is the wiring between the two.
