Default will aftermarket radio cause problems?

Ok, my bonnie is a base LE with the base climate control system. If I take out the GM radio and install an aftermarket unit with CD player and such, will I have a problem with the climate control unit not dimming? I know some people have had problems with that, but i'm not sure what years/models have that conflict.

Anyone know?

The problem only affects cars with electronic climate control.

The VF display on electronic climate control units gets a special pulse-width modulated dimming signal from the radio. When you eliminate the stock radio, the VF display will no longer become dim when you flip your headlights on.

To overcome this problem you have to perform additional wiring modifications and install a climate control head unit from a later Bonneville.

This problem affects Bonnevilles up to 1993.
