I never had any feelings about my Master Cylinder. It is not hard to replace, but before you replace it, what are the symptoms that you are experiencing. I wouldn't drive it to Indiana w/o a Large Anchor I could throw out the window if the brakes failed.

HAHA!!

Well umm the brake pedal is going all the way to the floor for hard stops or after coming to a stop it goes ot the floor...fluid is full...pads and shoes are good...so my first suspicion is the MC..

Your first suspicion seems to be the correct assumption. Most parts stores only carry rebuilt Master Cylinders but if you insist, I'm sure you can find a new M/C that will be $$$'*. The removal/replacement of the M/C is straight forward. It'* the bleeding that is most important. You must "Bench Bleed" the M/C first, and then you will need to bleed the entire brake system starting from the RIght Rear to the Left Rear, then to the Right Front and finally the Left Front caliper. Be careful NOT to get any brake fluid on the paint. And wear some gloves. Brake Fluid does not soften hands.

You can do a quick search for "bench bleed" and get the full procedure from one or more fairly recent threads here.

Or someone named Lash could go find the link and post it here.

Oh, so now I have to do everything...sheesh...

I already had the search done, but thought wj would want to take his pick of about 5 good threads on brake cylinder replacement.

Here'* an article (originally posted by Ol' Timer himself) on MC issues in general:
http://www.babcox.com/editorial/tr/tr502b.htm

Detailed Bleeding Instructions

And a thread with specific bench bleeding instructions about 3/4 way through, compliments of Bill Buttermore:
MC & Brake Bleeding Thread

BTW, a MC will come with instructions on how to bench bleed it, along w/the fittings necessary.
