I didn't have a pic of the drivers side but this might help. The flat trim piece is held in with push fasteners. Grab at the top and pull up and towards the windshield. The idea is to release the fasteners from the trim piece rather than remove the fasteners fron the A pilar. If I remember correctly, the other trim piece has a couple wierd fasteners but you should be able to see them clearly once the first trim piece is removed.

Hmm.. that'* strange. Mine just slides right off, looks nothing like that, and only has one piece on that main strip you talk about. I think you have to remove the piece at the bottom of the A-Pillar first, then move onto the middle strip. Don't quote me on that, it'* been a few months since I have pulled my A-Pillar trim. Randy'* description is more accurate, since he has a '90, and I have an '89.. and you have a '91. But, I thought I would chime in with mine, too.

Thanks guys, I got the top moulding off and managed to get my hand in to feel the hose, it was on and not leaking, the problem was at the bottom of the fender where it leaks out, it was so packed full of mud behind the fender skirt it would not drain, I opened it up and flushed it out with the hose and all is well, its also a great place for rust to start in there,
