what should the engine temp be on a 88 bonne sse seems like this car is about 125 and in the winter the heater sux, seems to me they are suppose to be near 175??, if that is the case the thernostat is shot i guess if it is even in there, the car has been this way for 2 years and have no idea what the guy did with it before that, and the ac doesnt work either but that is no biggie just use the 4/60 air to cool off.

at least you can do 4/60. in the end, i only had 2. i also believe that the temp gauge uses a funky scale, and i had this problem too, until the thermostat got changed also.

None of our guages seem to be linear, unfortunately. What is the needle'* position on the gauge? That'll do a little better for us, IMO.

If your heater sucks, then I think that may be a clue to your thermostat being stuck open.. but lets get the above, and go from there. No need to jump to conclutions.
