If it'* typical GM, there'* also a pigtail of wire attached to the lever that goes through the column shroud. Before you pull the wires out of the shroud, attach a piece of wire/string to it. That way when you plug the new one in, use the string/wire to pull the pigtail back through the shroud And like the guys said..just pull the lever straight out of the column

BTW, has anyone else had to do the trick with tightening the tilt wheel yoke screws? I've had to do this to every GM I have ever owned, just curious if the Bonneville has the same problem as well.
