MAF sensor test?
How can I test a MAF sensor? I think I hurt mine but would like to check it before getting a new one.
I disassembled the throttle body & cleaned it with intake cleaner but I was in a rush & forgot to remove the MAF before spraying it down. I did get some cleaner on the sensor (still wet when I removed it). The car ran fine before, but since I got it back together it seems to "hunt" at idle, its worse when its cold. Not really bad, maybe only 100 rpm or so, but I can hear it & it drives me nuts! I reset TPS votage to .41 closed, idle speed is 900rpm. I havent ruled out a vac leak, but have checked it with propane around all gaskets/hoses. No trouble codes have been tossed out.

Did you clean the IAC? That is the main cause of a fluctuating idle. Make sure when you clean it, it is all nice and shiny. Check for vacuum leaks.. those are never good. I finally fixed mine, and I think i'm getting better fuel economy, AND my cruise works

Yup, the I've got the cleanest IAC on the block
I'm really leaning for a gasket leak here somewhere. Is a MAF sensor either good or bad, no "in between?" The actual 2 little "wires" in there were all intact, they just didnt look very clean. I left them alone because they are so fragile, but still wonder if I hurt them when they got spayed with cleaner. Oops!
We've got a dirt cheap junkyard near here, I think I'll just go nab another one experiment

I have cleaned my MAF with alcohol & Q tip and once sprayed with 02 sensor safe
intake cleaner with no problems.
To check the MAF lightly tap on it while the car is idling.
If the car breaks up or stumbles after tapping, its bad and should be replaced.
Otherwise re-check all components, ducts, hoses wires disassembled.
Also check that the sensor o-ring seals are seated properly.
