Default K&N oil filter?

Has anyone ever used a K&N oil filter here before? The oil I buy was on sale the other week so I picked up a couple jugs. With the $ I saved I bought this oil filter. I figured that it'* probably a good oil filter being K&N, but just checking before I change my oil tomorrow.

Most of the diesel guys I talk to prefer them over Fram because the filter better. I'm getting one for my 6.2 diesel next oil change.

not worth the money IMO. Use a Purolator PureONE or a Delco filter. They're the best.

Anything is better than a Fram. That is the crappiest filter made.

Well yeah. But they prefer them over the other brands also. You get what you pay for I guess.

Right, Fram is the worst filter made.

I've heard good things about the K&N. Not worth the money, in my opinion, unless you drive something a bit more exotic than one of these...

As a better value in a good filter, the PureONE, Wix/Napa Gold, and ACDelco are all good filters. Probably in that order, too.

K&N is a good filter but.......over priced for what you get,, grab a WIX,NG,AC,P1,M1 just
to name a few and you'll get a filter of equal quality and filtration..

Some say they(K&N) gives up a little filtration for flow, i believe it.....

Purolator PureONE is slightly better IMO due to better multi pass fitration abilities. I have used K&N gold filters before and they are not bad. I have noticed my oil to be cleaner when doing oil changes after using the Purolator PureONE as to using a K&N. Does my driving style or the oil I use affect how it looks when I change the oil? possibly. But I know what works best in my car and thats all I can vouch for.

What makes you say so - personal experience? I'm just curious, not trying to be an *** in the slightest.

Here is a link to a great site about oil, filter and general automotive lubrication.

The link is to the oil filter part of the forum, poke around on the site and you should find what you are looking for.
