Default Oxygen Sensors

For years I have been using Delco O2 sensors (except for two Boschs I tried).

Now the Delco web page is showing two: the old favorite AFS-20 is listed as OEM but there is also an 213-503 given as an option and is used through 1997 (models for the AFS-20 stop at 1994).

The problem is that the -503 is the same size as the Bosch which means it has about a 2" cylinder on the top which means you have to remove the O2 sensor to R&R the #6 plug.

Does anyone know if there is any functional difference between the AFS-20 and the 213-503 ? The business end looks the same and the price is a wash.

Sounds like the -503 is the same size as the Bosch, but I would wonder how they would work. I always thought Bosch equipement malfunctioned because of the way they were built, but maybe it was (for this case) the size of which they made the 02 sensor. I never knew there were different size sensors available for the same year and model of a car.

I'd stick with what you have been using. I don't see how the O2 Sensor is even close to obstructing a plug removal, mine wasn't even close to them.

That'* odd, because on my '89 the o2 sensor, if was any taller, would be right in line with the #6 spark plug.

You do know that you've got 3 plugs in the back too, right?

Just messing with you, man...
