Replacing rear door glass in 1989 Bonneville
Had to replace window on rear door drivers side that I broke with the weed eater. Seemed like an easy job but could not get the window into the door. Stopped before I broke the replacement window I had obtained from the salvage yard. Looked for info on the forum but did not find it. My brother knows the owner of a local auto glass company. He had Stan call me with instructions.
He told me that you have to remove the rear vanity window in order to put the large window into the door. Then before the main window is attached to the regulator, reinstall the vanity window. Be sure to use some heater hose or something like it attached to a vacuum cleaner to remove all the broken glass from inside the door. It can get lodged in the the lift motor and keep the window from moving after you finish the install. DAMHIK. Test to be sure that window will lower and raise before putting trim panels back in.
