3800 factory headers
one thing I was reminded of today was our Bonney'* factory headers. were these an option or specific to Bonnevilles? I don't remember my Royale having those, just cast iron manifolds.

hehe...I cant. I do know that I going to try to find another set next time I get to visit the salvage yard. I also want to find another 3800 to rebuild when I find our second Bonney. I was changing the oil, in a heavy mist, and trying to find out why it sounds like a pro street car at idle. Problem is...we like smooth idle in our daily driver LOL. I cleaned the IAC plunger, plugs and wires are new. Its livable but my wife is griping you know women..wanting a living room on wheels

Havent seen the Bonnevilles exh manifolds but the 86 87 LeSabres and Delta had tubular manifolds as well, not really headers and the rear is not nearly as impressive as the front. It is after all the Buick engine. And was called the corporate V6. If there was any difference they would still fit and work on any H or C body with corresponding engine. Im willing to bet all three(five) cars used the same exact part #*

Exhaust manifolds used:
87-88 w/o high output
88-91 w/high output
92 used the same rear regarless of engine, but different fronts because of EGR mounting
92-95 rear is the same for SC
93-94 is the same front for L27
....and the list goes on. Some differences in 95/96, then the same for both engines 97-99. I'm not going into the 00+. Even more changes then.

So whats that restriction ? The way the pipes are made ? So whats that pipe doing on the carpet A true motor head. In 81 I rebuilt my Sumbeam Alpine engine on the kitchen table Thanksgiving day. Clean back from the machine shop, just assembly. It was in the car and running in time to go to work by the end of the weekend. Run it did 12.5:1 comp, full race cam, ect.
So I take it then the LN3-C had pipes similar to the 86-87 LG engines ?

headers on the carpet. How many of us (me included( wash parts in the kitchen sink too? One time I also spread out the car'* carpet and trunk mat on the living room so I could vacumn it really good. Works for DEEP vacumning
JR..thanks for posting that. Thats exactly what I am talking about. I wonder if that restriction can be easily removed?

Noticed that restriction. OTOH it works out to about 1.5" diameter, about the same as the ports and since a six doesn't overlap pulses... Of course I have never figured out the front/rear lag but suspect there is going to be a bunch of turbulence there. Maybe it helps the O2 sensor (can just see boss in front of opening). Stil a bit of grinding certainly would not hurt.
Suspect the "C" 165 hp engine is considered "high output" compared to the 150 hp "3".
