Cool Thermostat house issue

Hi to all Pontiac lovers. I'm new member of this forum and I will send a great thanks to all of you, who try helps us solve our sometimes mysterious problems. I'm owner of a Bonneville 90SE and it'* a great car with lots of space and comfort stuff. But I also have a little problem with low engine temp. I have reading a lot of about it. But my question is how to remove the one bolt th. house. I try to get it of but do not want to use to much force and maybe destroy it. It'* probably sealed with some kind of silicon. Shall I twist or is there some trick to get it lose? If somebody can send a picture of a removed house, so I can see how it looks, it will be great help. Regards from Sweden.

once you get the bolt out i would stuff a pry bar, ratchet, etc into the thermostat outlet hole and wiggle side to side, up and down, all while pulling upwards and it should stubburnly work itself out...there is only an oring holding it in place...getting it out is one thing but installing is another headache

excellent work Someday... nice use of resources

Someday is right. follow through the information in the above link and it should help you with any problems with removing it, if you need any help or pictures of what to do, let us know, there are few of us with the late 80s, and very early 90s but there are some.

And also please edit your "signature line" with the year and trim level (i.e. 90 SE Bonneville) to better help us with any other problems or questions you may have
- Simply click, "USER CP" button, scroll down to "Settings & Options", "Edit Signature", and have fun with it, pictures or just the basic information to help us better help you

Hi and Thanks for yours reply. I thought it was something like that, but was not sure if it had some kind of hook in or twist, because of the 1 bolt construction. Better to ask before. Otherwise I have also read a lots of the sealing problem in other treads.
Thanks from Sweden.
