if its sey up like a buick?? there may be two more hidden screws under another bezel on top of the big one if so the smaller one usually around the heater pannel just pulls off..

Agreed, it should just pop off. If it isn't, someone probably glued it in place, as it is held in by clips, and they break some times. If it is glued in, it must be unglued <usually by way of brute force> for the piece to come off. With it being 20 years old, it may not survive the encounter.

Also, sometimes due to the angles involved in removal, the clips sometimes jam, especially if they are the last ones. Do you have any better luck if you start by the steering wheel, and work your way over?

I would have to look at our unit at my parents house, but I don't believe it is screwed in. I am guessing that tilting the steering wheel all the way down hasn't helped either?

it also helps to tilt the steering wheel all the way down and drop the shifter all the way down into 1st gear

Ill try this when I get a chance. The reason I want it off is because it, along with other parts of the dash have some rattles im trying to get rid of.
