Default Ignition/Timing

Is it possible to throw off the timing of ignition if you only "half start" the car.

Here is what happened. Paul started up RLD with the remote starter, but accidently cancelled the ignition process while it was starting up. Then when he tried it again, the car had a hard time starting (but it eventually did)

Now its sputtering a bit and the SES light is on, symptoms of the Code 41 cam/timing issue that plagues the LN3. However, I have had my Code 41 issue fixed, it was replaced with a new timing CHAIN and METAL sprocket (replaced the rubber sprocket)

Can the car correct its timing or do we have another Code 41 issue to deal with?

Thats kinda interesting, didn't really think of half-starting as an issue. uhmm...I would assume since it quickly learned the wrong way that disc/recon'ing the battery will make it (hopefully) quickly relearn the right way. I have a push start in my car and sometimes I 'half-start' it but the only issue with that is a low idle for about 10secs or until I press the gas. Not an issue after that...

Thats what I suggested, we really need to pull the code on this one. I'll check back with him later and see what the issue was. Its just that he was desrcribing what could be taken as code 41 problems.

Either way, hopefully its not a big deal, I spent a WAD of money to get that car where it is mechanically...sooo...

Dood thats what I am hoping for. I asked him if the SES light was on, I had my fingers crossed, but didnt work. I really dont have a lot of time to be servicing that car right now, so hopefully it wont be an issue.

If so, then he needs to get it in, and replace the heater core as well.
