Cloth Interior roof
OK peeps, since I'm learning so much....The cloth roof in my Bonne is coming loose or is loose in some areas.......How can I fix this????

I think randman1 knows of some sort of spray glue to spray up there and it holds it up??? Or I could be imagining things?

Thanks Lake....I hope randman checks this post out...the damn falling down cloth is gettin on my nerves.....
So is there anyone in the Dallas Fort Worth area..that just loves to work on these old Bonne'*.?? or maybe be a mentor hahahha...LIke I said...I can't give mine up and wanna keep it in good shape......

I can't say as I know of a way to fix a sagging headliner in certain areas. I replaced the entire fabric in my 93 as have many others that have the sags. Once the fabric looses it'* adhesion to the headliner board, you really can not get it to re-stick. The idea is to remove the old fabric and apply new stuff.
The major problem is getting the headliner out of the car. Again, there have been a few members that have removed their'* from a 92-99 but I haven't read any threads regarding the removal in a 87-91.
I removed mine from the right rear door, others have done it from the front, and still others have removed doors for the removal of the headliner. My guess would be removing yours from one of the rear doors as the opening is a bit wider than the front. I'm sure that the headliner will have to be bent to remove so recruit a pal or two.

Rant..thanks so much...I would actually like to replace the entire thing. So this is something you've done? Where do I get the fabric, etc?

Yes, I have done a headliner replacement in my 93. The one in my 90 is near perfect so I don't anticipate doing it anytime soon.
I bought the fabric from a local auto trim shop called Just Rite Auto Trim. I have developed a rapport with them that allows me to browse their collection of fabrics in order to match colors and textures. There are at least three other shops within a resonable driving distance if they don't have have what I'm looking for.
The fabric is also available online but you can't match the color, texture and thickness exactly. This is not a big deal if you really don't have to match anything. I have also seen other cars that have non-matching fabrics and it looks very nice. So, the decision is yours... If you want an exact match, find a trim shop that you can look at samples. If close enough is cool, then order fron the 'net. The material is pretty inexpensive. It usually comes in 54" widths and is sold by the yard. You will need 2 yards to do tour headliner. About $20 for fabric and 3 x $17 for the spray adhesive.

I can't say much about the headliner in my 91 as I didn't have the time to fool with it... I too it to a pro and let him do it for $120... 2 years and still looking great... It too was sagging all over the place and I couldn't stand it any longer...lol
Randman, I had the pleasure of removing the headliner in my 95 a few days ago... I had many colorful choice words to go with the removal... WTF and H(how)TF did they get that in there came to mind but in the assembly plant there was no windshield...LMAO... I did get it out, after I bent crunched and kinked it a little... But once I'm done you'll never know...lol

I often wonder in what order things are installed at the factory. Kinda makes you scratch your head...
I took my headliner out by myself. A helper would have made it much easier and I probably would not have damaged the board too. I found another use for duct tape. It works pretty well as a splint to repair the board.

Yeah no helper here either... And talk about itching... Man I was supprised to see that the board was fiberglass... Getting all of the old foam off was fun too...lol
