Passed SMOG with ease - again
Bonne' has 120k miles on it now. It could use a new IM gasket, and work on a few leaks, but it passed smog check with flying colors - again. This is the cleanest burning engines of all my cars.
Measured
Result = CO2 / O2 / HC / CO / NO
15mph : 15.0 / .06 / 3.0 / .01 / 32
25mph : 15.1 / .04 / 1.0 / 0.0 / 74

Back in the day these engine were the lowest friction engines of the time.... They were also designed with emissions in mind... The piston rings were closer to the top of the piston to help reduce hydrocarbon emissions... When you put a functional O2, Good Cat and an engine that was designed to be a lower emissions engine.... You end up with a pretty clean burning motor...
Things improved with the L27'* and got even cleaner with the L36
