Default Open the hood from outside the car?

Hi,

I think that my wire to the hood opener is broken off, nothing happens when i pull the leaver.

Is there any simple way of opening the hood from the outside of the car?
Without disassembling the whole front end of course

Look up under. I use bent tip needle nose pliers.

First thing is to go find a car where the hood does open so you can figure out how it works.

You're going to need to reach up from the bottom and grab the metal wire.

Oh, Bonnevilles aren´t that common around here you know... think its easier to try from under my car and take it from there...

you have a Primary latch and a Secondary latch the cable runs to the primary latch
what i would do is find the cable inside the car attach a Vise grip to it and pull

To pull the cable. But what if the cable is broken on the hood side? Then how will you open it?

With your hand. Push down on the hood and pull where the cable would.

Sneak under and get a view of the latch. Usually you can see the cable connected. Move the lever it'* attached to the same way as the cable would pull it.

(Did this on Randmans truck the other week. Now that'* a good stretch to get to on the truck. Maybe your latch is merely dirty and cruddy like his was. A little PB Blaster, couple of minutes working it back and forth and now it works like new.)
