Default one small problem after tranny rebuild

I have to recalibrate the speedometer or replace the cable with a new one. The cable that was on the cutlass tranny is what I think is on there now. I'm thinking that if I replace that then it wont read 15 mph under the actual speed as it does now. :?:

Unless the cable is damaged and sticking it won't affect the speedo. You might want to check the numbers and see if the gear ratios are the same.

The SSE that you have, IIRC, has a 3.33 final drive ratio. Did that trans get replaced with one that has numerically lower gears?

Default sse gears

Could be a different final drive ratio or you need to install the mem cal in the computer from the other car. Do you have access to the trunk spare tire labels from both cars for a comparison?

The mem cal is the original from the original ECM. I replaced the ECM when I purchased the car. According to jr3800 I should have the 2.79 fdr and the rebuild was done on the original tranny. Even when I the 3.33 tranny was in it I didn't have this trouble. :?

Tested with my son on highwy, when he was at 55 I was at 40, when he was at 60 I was at 45. Could I get a new speed sensor? Can I calibrate the one I have now? Is this worth the trouble to fix or just learn to read the spdmtr this way?
