Oil Pressure
Anyone with the oil pressure guage option on their bonnie: What pressures are you all getting.
I just replaced my oil pressure sender last week and I was a little surprised at my pressure readings I think mine are too low. Mind you that I put the new pressure switch on there nice and tight and even used teflon tape and there is absolutely no leak from the pressure sender itself
ALSO NOTE my engine does leak a little oil (a quart every 3 - 4 weeks so its a small leak)
This probably contributes a little to my low rating:
Ok so the day I installed the new pressure sender I noticed my oil pressure needle was close to red line (low) so i added 1-2 qts of oil, it was night and I was concerned with getting enough oil in it so i accidentally overfilled it by ~1/2 -3/4 of a quart of oil ( i KNOW THAT IS BAD fOR THE ENGINE, I APPOLOGIZE!!!)
What struck me was that even with too much oil in the crankcase, My oil pressure was still registering anywhere between the halfway point , which according to the scale should be 40 (psi?) when the car is cool and just started, and only 1/5 of the way up the scale which should be ~15 (psi?) when the car is warm and has been driven for a while. It must take a whole hell of a lot of over-filling to get above that .
So i was just wondering? What do you guys get as an oil pressure reading when 1) Just starting up the cold engine and 2) after driving for a while?
Thanks!

i'm trying to think now what the number is.. but its a needle'* thicknees past the center line. I must say though, if your oil pressure is low, then chances are it has something to do with that oil leak you mentioned in a previous post.
