Noise on the accessory belt!
*sigh*
I just did my HB a couple months ago, and now something else is making noise. You can only hear it at warm idle...alternator perhaps? At any rate, does this sound familiar to anyone...

Sounds more like something loose and vibrating than a pulley or bearing of some sort. Really makes me thing of a cracked accessory bracket or loose mount. Not like a pulley at all.

Remove the Belt and check the water pump for up and down play in the bearings... Almost sounds like the vanes in the pump are chewing the timming cover... Just do a cheak and see if it has any play... If not than we'll move on

Think it'* the alt. I was driving down the road and the sound got louder. Next thing I knew the voltage guage was well below 1/2. The battery light then came on, so I shut off all uneccessary electrical equipment and quickly went home. Voltage at the battery posts shows 12v with the car off, and 12v with the car running. Gonna replace the alt. tomorrow morning...I'll let you know what happens.

Car started this morning. Replace the alternator. Car will not start now, just a single click. Even with the car boosted by another running car it just clicks once and nothing. Voltage reads 12.3v at the battery, all electronics work. Any ideas whats going on here?

When was the last time you checked or cleaned the Battery cables? Is there 12v at the starter?

Battery cables were checked this morning...they are tight and clean. Don't know about voltage at the starter...
