Anyone know where i can the FelPro Set "HS 9556 PT" at a good price? Autozone wants $122

Is this for an LN3? If so, you can get the entire overhaul gasket set [every single gasket the engine has] for $135. I just bought mine last week [still haven't received it], but that'* what you'll want. If it is an LG3.. I cannot help you, but maybe search around on gmpd [www.gmpartsdirect.com]. The part number for the LN3 overhaul gasket set is 12350289

If you need any help, you can ask me. I have dealth with a lot of **** from my car, and if you look at my sig, that'* what my engine looks like right now.

Right now that is how my engine looks. I trying to bring a 89 LeSabre back to life. I know it needs the head gaskets and a lower intake one. This is my first 3800 and the first engine I even took apart I will look into that gasket as soon as i get the engine cleaned up

Don't worry, this is my first engine too. You will need a LOT of gaskets.. trust me. I would spend the extra $10 for GM gaskets.. just me though

I am not familiar with the FelPro number you mentioned but the FelPro'* that came with the overhaul set I used on an LN3 have too large a bore diameter. I still have them and I purchased stock GM graphite coated gaskets instead. The rest of the FelPro set is generally first rate. The bore diameter of the FelPro is just shy of 4" and the stock gaskets are 3.85". The largest overbore recommended for this engine is .040" so the stock gaskets are just about the perfect size. That 4" gasket diameter doesn't sound too bad at first glance but if you calculate the actual volume added by the unused space created by the gasket, you will find it will cost a couple of tenths, or more, in compression ratio.

My project may have to wait the car won today. It broke two of my wrenches, and made me lose one that belongs to my friend'* dad. He does not know about that. That that back header is a hard thing to get out. My tool set was an autozone special musting tool set($30). I'm surprise i got this far with them. But thanks for you info

I had to get under the car to get the rear header off. First, remove all the bolts that attach it to the other exhaust pipes [BEFORE it goes to the final pipe which is in the center of the firewall.. you know what I mean] and the head. Then, get under the car and unbolt the header from the rest of the exhaust. I tried, but you really can't get it out from under the car. You WILL need a universal joint socket to get those two bastard bolts off. I also had about 16" in extentions.. PB Blaster is absolutely a must, too. Protect your eyes.. they WILL get **** in them. I got tons in mine. Not cool.

You are on your way, as I can see. However, you have a lot more to remove to get the heads off. PM me [or hit me up on AIM or MSN], I can help I dealt with it all. Also if you look at my post in the 87-91 section, "Top End Rebuild" there is a lot of good info in there, however it is 9 pages.. so it may take some time to read through. Remember there are always people out there to help . Also, what hour number is this?

Cheap tools suck. Go to Sears and spend all the money you have on their tools. Trust me, you NEED strong tools. Especially to get those Head Bolts off. I may not be the strongest guy, but it took me 2.5ft of extensions to get those suckers off [I can bench 110lbs]. Also, don't use Deep sockets to remove stuff like that, I broke one of mine being too lazy to grab a shallow one. I may be young, but I have learned quite a bit in these several months.

My post for GAOC

Today I got the P/* pump off, the front header, and belt tensioner. I could not pull the front head do to this star bolt on the a/c.

The car also won today, it broke two of my open wrenches and made me lose a socket. The back header is what cause that. Now i need to get some real tools. I'm surprise i got this far with them.
