WHAT'* ThIs Sensor?
Hi. Thanx for the help with the ball joint. My lazy self endedn up bringing it to a garage and giving a guy 210 bucks to change the ball joint and tie rod, but oh well. The MAF problem that i had posted before....still going.no stalling anymore ..But i found a sensor, its under the air filter box. Previously i had cleaned a sqaure block kinda sensor on the air intake. Now i found a new one, its a small round sensor. I cleaned it with elec. cleaner. My car stalling problem is...it doesnt stall now but...it idles at about 200-500 RPM, but after a minute it might speed up a bit to 700 rpm or so, and runs rich. What IS that sensor i cleaned? And also....something else about the engine running prob. the guages (speedo) will not work when the check engine light comes on. Im thinking the speedo might mean its the ECU as well as sensors? I dont know, my last car i worked on was a fiero GT (easier, not as many sensorsl lol). Thanx for the help.

Sounds like the IAT (Intake Air Temperature) sensor.
Can you see a hole in the air box for it? It should be snapped in there.
As for the idle, have you checked for vacuum leaks.... your car is at an age where the vacuum lines and fittings can be cracked from being brittle and getting bumped/pinched.
Also, while you are spraying those down with throttle body cleaner to check for the leaks, spray around the Throttle body gasket -that could be a cause for the idle issues.
