Default 1990 bonneville door locks stopped working

Heyt Guys i was trying to lock the doors with the door-lock switch and it does nothing will not lock or unlock,I have to do it manually(lock-unlock) the doors. Now when i press the lock/unlock switch i hear a clicking sound over in the passenger side kick-panelno matter which door switch i press, could it be that the door lock/unlock relay is bad? This is on a 1990 bonneville Le.

Since mine are doing the same thing and I still have not figured it out, here is my thread from not too long ago, try referring to some of their answers and see what works!

Sounds like it might be electrical. It appears you hear the click..which means the button is actuating the relay. (relay makes the click). I would start at the relay and make sure you can get current through it. Sometimes a relay will carbon up on the contacts and not allow current through.

Default locks

For the relay to work you need to check the 15A fuse as well as the 30A circuit breaker.
Also check that the sockets they are plugged into are clean and tight. You might even swap the circuit breaker with a known good one as a test.

Well, I have the same problem on my 90 SSE, I had gone through all the obvious solutions to no avail, and have ended up running power to the relays, as I have no power to them for them to throw the actuators... but, with mine my power seats also did not work... I hope for your sake that it is something simple..

same thing happened here, when i tried to change the fuse, it blew the new fuse. there is probably a short somewhere in the circuit.

Default fuse

Now you will have to check each wire for a short to ground with a test light or OHM meter. Yes its time consuming but you can start with the main wires then procede to the seat motors etc.
Heck why not just unplug all the under seat wires and install the fuse as a test. If the fuse doesn't blow you know where your problem is.
