what is that? is it the thing that goes up top of your windows and holds over so you can have your windows cracked, and the rain not come in or something?

Yes! It somehow snaps into the window channel. I don't know how the window closes securely so you don't get any wind noise. Other than the ability for driving in the rain with the windows open just a bit I don't see the point. Some people like "the look" of them.

That'* exactly what they are for... I've got a set on my 91....
They do create more wind noise during highway driving, but I do like the ability to crack my windows when it'* raining and not get everything wet inside. And I actually do like the look of them.
