Default Intermittent spark/no spark 1990 delco ignition module

My son has a 90 LeSabre that I have switched from the magnavox to the delco ignition module. It now has a random no start/stall condition where there is a decent spark one minute and no spark the next. I have reseated the module connector and done a partial inspection of the harness into the module and don't see anything obvious. I will probably make a trip to the pick and pull for another module when I get the chance but am throwing this post out if anyone has any other suggestions. In particular, I am wondering if there is a ground that comes loose that I should check.

I have also found that the delco module that will bolt right up is harder and harder to find. There are plenty of later 3800 equipped cars with what looks like the same module. However, these modules do not have the three bolts coming out of the bottom of the module but are attached to a plate that bolts on to block. If you pull one of these modules apart, is it possible to put the three flat head bolts on them so you can use them on the older three bolt mount?

Thanks

I picked up and sold a bunch of these in the past. What I would pick up was the coils, ICM and the bracket right below the ICM. I did so by unbolting the 3 11mm nuts off the bottom of the bracket. This should have left the three flat bolts and the plate the coils/ICM bolt up to.

In this case, I'd also check the crank sensor.
