Okay, my car is at it again!!! Tomorrow, she is going out, she is going to take me to my lady friend'* house, and back. I have 10 minutes to dick around with the car before I have to leave, and its getting dark here. My power brakes.. don't shut off. My brakes work JUST fine with 'em. However, when I pull the fuse, I have the firmest petal, and like ZERO stopping power. Is it okay to run her like this? I noticed the car was humming, and the battery died in 4 hours of ignition on with stereo [factory stereo], and that has never happened, so I realized the power brake pump thingy was on, pulled the fuse, and all is kinda well. She only has to make a 25 mile [or so] trip there, back, there, back. What do you guys think? I have NO room for a brake down or problems.

Sounds like a stuck PMV. Driving with that is a bad idea.

Wait. You mean the ABS fuse right? Because Power brakes aren't electric...

Don't know, but I didn't have power brakes, I can tell you that! trying to stop from 5-0 mph was like trying to stop the space shuttle from 500-0. My ABS light is on along with my BRAKE light. Don't know whats up with that sucker, but its scaring the shiznit outta me, because if my baby breaks down, i'm so SCREWED!!

No brakes with a stiff pedal... Vacuum booster. Press harder.

The brakes have an electric pump. I think you pulled the wrong fuse (I did the same thing too). It'* the ABS controller fuse, NOT the pump.

If you're red brake light goes on after initial pump-up, DO NOT DRIVE! Pulling the controller fuse fuse will only cause the yellow ABS light to come on.

The pump is part of the ABS PMV, Should be easy enough to check switching. Just don't take one apart. On the inside, The valves look like fat little fuel injectors, pretty cool, But they fall apart.

Both light up, and never go out. Don't know whats up with 'em. They were both fine Sunday. When I pull fuse 8 + 9, I get a hard petal, if I put the fuses in, I get a nice, good feeling petal, the brakes work great. And I was able to push the car [thought the Ebrake was on], so I know the brakes aren't locked up anywhere. BOTH light up with initial startup.

Is it safe to drive? - this is my main question, without doing any major harm.

If that red light stays on, it is absolutely NOT safe to drive. It is normal for the red light to stay on for 20 seconds or so upon first start-up of the day or after not running for several hours, but no more. I'm going to check my manual, you should do the same, and find out what fuse number I pulled. I thing it is 12. Before you go any further, this MUST be verified.
