Re-building a 89SE
I have a 1989 SE Bonnie..well..as you all prolly know.my tranny **** the bed..
so i get a new one..replaced it
i also needed some other "minor" things...
2 Drive shafts,2 Tire rods,2 Rotors and Pads..All engine tune ups,spark plugs,..oil..
changed the tranny filter and all that nice jazz,new throtle piece,radiator,thermostat..
well..hear me out..i payed (including tranny) not even 900$ for all these great things at a nice little garage in the hills.
the result,gas mileage is up..car is strong,shifts great.....
Mpg went from 15/19 to a remarkable 20/25!
Just though i would share that with you guys
BTW:anyone know how i can better improve my gas mileage?..

Consider cleaningg the EGR
Hey;
One thing to help the engine burn "clean" would be to take the EGR valve off the top of your engine, take it all apart and then with one of those wire brushes you can buy at the dollar store, take all those years of caked on, crusted exhaust emmissions. It'* the easiest project in the world and it helps the car idle really smooth.
Don't use any solvents, just a wire brush, maybe some water and a bit of lubricant, (WD-40 etc) for the air valves.
Good Saturday morning project.
Regards.

NEW: Gas Tank, Fuel Lines, Brake Lines, Front Axle, Brakes, Rotors, Calipers, HI-Beam switch, 02 Sensor.......all done by me.
