Iceburg
So unfortunatly the Titanic hit an iceburg in an ICE storm last week here in the GTA. I drove through what I thought to be a big puddle, but as it turned out there was a center of solid ice. It hit the cat and now there is an exhaust leak right at the weld. Its not too loud and it don't sound rice! but, I have to wait for some more $$$ to fix it. But I was wondering if anyone knew what the cost would be to replace? the rest of the system is perfect, and the muffler is a stock GM with the throaty roar!
thanks

We have a Magic Muffler shop in town with a really great manager. With a problem like this, if possible, they would just weld up the crack for a few bucks. You might check around the shops in your area to see if any are willing/able to do the same for you.

I second that...
To save travel time, call around first. It lets you know if they will do it and then you can get an idea on price at the same time. I find that sometimes you get a better price over the phone for something basic like this.

I actually really lucked out-
my buddy who is a GM mechanic is going to fix it at cost. I decided to replace the entire cat anyway, as the heat sheild is actually loose, and the car is due for an emission test this year anyway. We're also replacing the DR door hinge, pwr steering flush, and posibly the gaz lines, not sure yet. I'm sure that it will pass, it still dribbles water out the tailpipes....
thanks for the suggestions.
