transmission?
recently i have run into another mysterious problem with my bonnie; everytime i come to a stop and get on the gas to go again the engine will just rev and i'm not going anywhere. it feels like the transmission slips, if i wait about 3 or 4 seconds the engine will grab again and all is well until i come to another stop.
it isn't dropping in neutral because i tested it on a hill and when it'* revving the car doesn't roll back like it would if it had been in neutral.
i thought it might have been the fluid so i topped that up and it still slips at stops. i have learned to correct this annoyance by dropping it into neutral when coming up to a stop and then throwing it back into drive when i come away from the stop.
someone please tell me this isn't a sign of my transmisson'* last leg and that it can easily be fixed.
Justin.

Or possibly underfilled check the level... Could even be a sticking check ball of Valve in the valve body...
When was the last time the fluid was changed?

basicly if the torque converter is slipping you have to replace it
which involves dropping the tranny and if you do the you my as well buy a different trans
and 9/10 most junkyards wont sell you just a t/c
you can find a tranny for 300-500$

rebuilding might be worse, hard to tell, since it seems there are a lot of repeat failures with rebuilt trans

yes, after reading a lot of posts the only route to go would be to buy a brand new tranny since every other option would just lead to the same thing or worse.
anyone know the canadian dollar figure on a new one?
