Does it make your car faster? Or does the TPS mod just adjust _throttle positions_, are you just given the illusion of speed because it takes less on the gas pedal to get where you want? :?:

(I know your tranny isn't in the best of shape, Justin, but IIRC, don't our trannys like to brake torque up to 2500 only? Or can you actually get up to 3k?)

Default TPS

I think this pretty much describes what this mod is intended to do, seems like it should work, basically telling the computer and tranny that the pedal is further down than it is, kind of like activating a performance mode.

I may give this a try with the new throttle body, that way I don't have as much downtime, I'll put up a post if/when I do it, may be the little boost I am looking for.

Thanks!

if you find you have to push your car to get it to downshift... check your TV cable adjustment (aka KICKDOWN)

I've been playing with mine for the past couple days (the oem auto adjust is worn out... have to manual adjust) ... cars woken up ALOT ... under 40mph I can brake the tires loose on command in the wet (vin 3 .. with 2.73:1 trans) and get a downshift scratch in the dry... but I'm still playing to get the shifts right where I want them.

you can completely change the characteristics of the car with TPS, TV adjustments and some simple bolt ons... the chips available do a nice bit too

you won't see MASSIVE power gains... but chrisp throttle and proper downshifts with 20-30 more hp will definately make your car feel like a totally different one

RepinS: when your transmission isn't slipping whatsoever, then it would be around 2500rpm. But mine is closer to 2900rpm/3000rpm on a day when the car hadn't been driven for a while. There is no illusion.. and because of all the mechanical parts on our cars [not electrical], just the TPS sensor mod, will NOT give more power anywhere. It'* kinda like a tune up, nothing more than extracting the power that was already there. It'* kind of hard to explain, especially at 6:30am.

It does not give a "performance mode" all it does is report the ACTUAL voltage to the ECU, so it knows what to do with it. This doesn't really do anything more than that.
