the quickest way that you can tell is that your pedal will say anti lock on it. (Thats the way my moms 91 SSE is. i think that SSE bonnies come standard with that, dont they? also, if you ever have the wheel off and see something plugged into your brakes, that should be the antilock sensor. ( i know on the newer ones like i have, the traction control and the abs work together.) also under your dash is a yellow cable that says antilock on it. those are all the ways that i know to check for antilock brakes. As for the whole using them, ive had to slam on them a few times. my car or me seems to be an old lady magnet, they just love to pull out in front of me. abs is a very useful tool to help combat the damages that old people cause!!LOL!! I love old people, they crack me up.. NE ways, the traction control is also useful. i just wish it was like the grand am i had once. it was a 2001 with traction contrl. (4wheel) i went into a spin on a dirt road, (Deer) and the back wheels kicked in to keep me from going into a full spin, balanced me right back on the road. this girl at work has (had) a 2002 Hyndai Tiburon GT and she called my SSE a granny mobile, she just totalled her car the other day!!! Personally, i think pontiacs are pretty stout especially the bonnevilles!!! do not think that i want to own another vehicle other than a pontiac. now that i have wasted all of your time, i will end with this, just check the things above, and follow the advise of the people in this forum, and you will never be led wrong. These people have helped me through many a battle with the bonniebeast!!!!!
