dumb question: fuel tank capacity?
ever since ive been driving this car i always thought it had a 15 gal tank. i believed that cuz the needle on the fuel gauge for my bonny is on the yellow part at about 15 gallons. i read the post on the reivew and it mentioned our bonnys have 18 gal tanks.
how much gas is in your tanks wehn the gauge says empty??
if we have 18 gal tanks that would bumb me up to 400+ miles a tank

wow 500! i would love to see that on my trip odometer. the farthest i ever pushed it was 425 with the car fully loaded on the freeway (still with the 15 gal mentallity in mind).
i dont know what my secret is either! im surprised every time i fill up with the mpg i get considering the miles on the engine, 70+ freeway speeds (the Bonny was meant to fly) , the hills around here, the way i drive and from what i hear you guyes on the forum here get. yea i normally average 340-375 miles for every 15 gal i put in so its about 23-25 mpg. but now that i know for sure its a 18 gal tank ill wait till the 400 mark before i start shopping around for gas .
something i learned: calculate the mpg using the big odometer and not the trip odo. my trip broke and took me a awhile to figure out why my mpg calcs were so irradic.

My trip odo is so wonky I have to use my regular odometer. But I usually drive in stop and go traffic and on city street. So I can usually get 550 km out of one tank. I fill up every 8 days or so.

The little gear inside there gets stuck at the 9'*
I still should take apart my old one and see how that bugger works. It just finding the time to do so.

hmm
I was assume 18gallon or 62L tank is right
anyone know why my gas gauge (im not bitching about how any of my other gauges work) after i have used 35L out of my 62L tank the gauge goes to Eeekks? at 30 it is at 1/4.. then it just drops... i should be more like 1/2 at 30... --
-Now onto bitchin' and moaning about other gauges-- would this also be the reason my oil pressure gauge is doing it to? when its suposta be at 1/2 its at 1/6..

i get 300 miles per tank when i'm LUCKY (only once as far as i've had my car and it was running on premium fuel for fun to see what it does) normallyh i get like 280miles per tank. Last time i was at the pump ( well i do the math every time to see my MPG) I got 16.22 miles per gallon. I was very dissappointed. All my driving is in the city though and about 3/4th of my driving involves trips of less than 5 miles. I know this all contributes to low mileage but still its pretty low. I just got new plugs and wires about (plugs a year ago, wires 6 months ago). I dont know if I should try replacing the O2 sensor... my torque converter clutch issues might contribute also because it locks up at too low of an rpm (see previoius thread if you're interested in this discussion) and i have to release the accelerator and hit it again often to keep my power going. Oh well, i love the car enough to not care about the MPG.!!!

on my 88 lesabre I used to get around 420 miles per tank, the riv gets around 500 miles on a tank of gas. I have a 20 gallon tank though on that car.. but the 99 and below bonnevilles have an 18 gallon tank, 2000+ have a 20 gallon tank.
