Default Adjusting vacuum modulator?

Well as some of you may know, justin and i both have purchased. Obviously, i put mine on a RUNNING car (haha justin) so i got to test it first. Now, as per the instructions, i adjusted it 2 full turns at a time, to no more than 7 turns. I noticed no difference so i thought i had a defective modulator. But i couldn't return it because it had been installed, so i left it in just for the heck of it. Well justin told me just crank the screw in all the way, and see how it was. Well it worked FANTASTIC. Nice positive shifts now. But i guess my real question is will this cause any damage to the tranny? The instructions explicitly said do not turn more than 7 turns. But the only way i can feel it is if it'* cranked to max. Is this ok?

The 7 turn rule maybe a limitation of what the modulator itself may hold. Also the modulator maybe more to eliminate harsh shifts or firm shifts vs firming them.

Kinda puzzling :?

But those are my thoughts

The purpose of the modulator is to control transmission pressure. The tighter you turn that screw, the higher you have the pressure. Now, i told him to crank it up all the way, because i figured the transmission couldn't make more pressure than it could handle, especially due to his recent rebuild [just over 1,000miles]. Now, on a transmission with weak seals it could damage something or anything along that line. But I don't think anyone should try this until i have my car running once again. Because if my transmission can handle it, then i'm sure anyone'* can.

My mom was recently hospitalized, and i have to take care of her for the time being, so i can't run for a new battery just yet. she has to go to some doctors and i may be able to sneak off to walmart while she'* there or waiting or something.

Now, the firmer shifts, quicker shifts, more responsive transmission whatnot.. that is all due to the increased line pressure. Because our transmissions are set to slip quite a bit, because we have a 'luxury' car [more just not a performance car], and this helps counter-act this.

One last thing, the modulator can hold the extra spring tension, that'* no problem. It says specifically in the instructions, "TRANSMISSION DAMAGE MAY OCCUR." I believe Alec and I both have the exact same modulator.. i believe.

Please, let me re-itterate this once again. DO NOT go against the modulator'* instructions until I have tested this myself. You may put your transmission under great risk of damage, so please do not do it as of yet. I will be sure to post my findings when the time comes.

Should try and install a trans temp gauge if you can and drive it around both stock and adjusted.....Heat could become more of a factor.

everyone with a 4T60-E has an adjustable unit. personally, i don't think extra pressure will cause extra heat. if anything it will lower temps.
