Default TV cable linkage keeps slipping off P/N switch

As the title says, my TV cable linkage keeps popping off my park/neutral switch. The plastic tab that is supposed to snap over the ball on the switch is either worn or something...

Short of drilling out the old ball side of the joint and putting in a small bolt, I don't know how to fix this. I can't zip-tie it since it has to move and I can't really think of a way to increase the outside diameter of the ball so that the plastic clip on the TV cable will stay on better.

Just wondering if anyone had any thoughts or experience with this problem.

Still no luck... I dropped by an auto parts store and the guys there didn't know of a way to fix it short of drilling it out.

I searched the forums and no luck there either.

Any thoughts anyone?

Do you have any pics? I'm having a hard time visualizing this.

Entire cable? That sounds like a huge hassle... gah...

I'm seeing that the section with the ball end of the joint has a bolt... if I can get that part off at the shop then I can drill out the old ball, tap the hole, and just put in a bolt with a bushing on it or something...

Just for future reference, thats not your TV cable. thats your gear selection.

Your TV cable comes from the throttle body and reports to the transmission, your current approximate throttle depression to know if it should downshift or upshift.
