So, regarding top speeds again.
I took the LeSabre out for a spin on the highway, and tried to see how fast I could go. (don't worry, it was safe)
Since my speedo only goes to 160 KPH, which is... (sorry, have no idea what thats in MPH) I cannot see what the top speed of the car is.
I had the pedal buried to the floor, and it seemed to go fast. Buried the speedo, but the tachometer stopped at arounds 4300 rpm, and would not increase.
I'm not even sure what gear it was in, or if it was in OD, but how fast would that be now?

Ok, 108 MPH is 160-170 KPH. Thats in third gear, and at 4300 RPM.
Now, if i were to disconnect the TV cable, wouldn't the tranny go right to 160 KPH (100 MPH) and stay in 4th gear, TCC in? Wouldn't it be able to go faster, or would the fuel cut-off still limit the vehicle speed?
NEXT QUESTION... How do i go faster? (speed rated tires of course) But what else?
One thing'* for sure. Compared to most other small import or domestic cars, The buick feels VERY secure at high speeds, even with the stock 205/75/r14 tires. lol

The only way I know of defeating the speed limiter is to have the PCM reprogrammed.
I have noticed that these cars do feel very stable up to about 140 mph but over 150 and the back end starts to feel loose. You probably won't have to worry about being able to exceed 140 mph (220 kph).

From my understanding, these cars do not have a PCM speed limiter. Not everything is electronically controlled like the newer models.
