i was driving to the store and it just sputtered like it was running out of fuel then it started driving fine for a while and 2 blocks from my destination it just turned off while i was aproaching a stop sign and it would npot start back up...

It could be your fuel pump.
Sometimes hitting it sharply with a soft hammer will get it to work until you can replace it.

Did you get a re-manufactured fuel pump?

yes, it could be the FPR. I had mine go bad right after my pump and filter

it is the little cylinder with a crimp in the middle. its got a vaccum line going to it, and held in place with both of the fuel connectors. Yes, it is right near the schrader valve

is there any way to tell if its bad or not..?

and whats the procedure to remove it..? do i have to drain the fuel from the rail first or something...? how easy was the swap.?

I was on my way out to the junk yard to get a fuel pressure regulator and incidentally my car started up on the second try and every try after that. But the car is still surging as if someone was stepping on and off the gas. Then when I revved the engine to 3500 RPM it ran fine.

I also heard a grinding noise, I thought it might be coming from where the alternator is, but I am not 100% that it is an alternator but I will swap that later. I am going to that junk yard to get an FPR to see if that is the issue of the surging.

Can anybody else tell me what it might be while I am there so I can get that piece also and see if that is the issue.

PS my car did not start up at all last night I had to have it pushed home by a friend. But the darn thing starts right up every time this morning for some darn reason.

Please respond so my wife can tell me what you say and grab an extra part or two.

Hmmm...sounds like a heat-related issue.

How is that ICM? New, used, or been on there a while?
