Default will this work?

I need to change the tranny in my SSE. It has the 3.33 final ratio. I have an 89 SE parts car that has a good tranny. It is not the sport ratio though. Would the other tranny still work? Or do i have to find another 3.33 ?

Actually there is not much left of the car, the interior is gutted and the panels are rusted through. It still drives OK though. Where is the computer? (ecm right?) Can I just take it apart and switch the chips? Also to save labour (and downtime for the car) I might just change all the seals and gaskets on the 89 and swap the motor and transmission together. Is there any difference between the two motors? They both have around 250 to 300 k on them (the odometer is damaged in both)

I think that I will just take out the other motor and tranny and replace all the seals then swap them. Thanks for all the info, you guys really know your stuff
