Angry brake mod need help asap please!!!

Hi peeps!
Ok let me start with I love these cars even more the 3800 engine I don’t own one atm but owned them in the past and i didt have this problem with mine, but my friend has one i talked him into buying and now he needs some serious help. His car is just sitting and he and is familiy really need it runing so im going to try to help him out in 3rd person here so please bear with me.

Ok heres the deal it’* a 1990 sse bone stock and they told him to fix the brakes its going to be over 2k to fix so in the mean time hes without a car.

Any way I guess he has a master cylinder or abs system that is on it was only made for his car and 2k for replacement is nuts. He also said its not compatible with any other vehicle and the guy at the dealership told him to change it over or out to newer or older style of brake system im not sure what is supose to be done here.

If this is the case im sure there is a mod and a creative way of handling this, Has any one been through this?

I searched but couldn’t find it here on the site but if there is a way of changing this over im sure its on here and some one could pointe me in the right direction. And what all is needed and what it takes to do this mod.

there is a u pull it junk yard right by his house and there are several bonnies there so I felt we just disable the abs as ive done on several of my other gm vehicles and change out the master with another one from another model?

if some one can help me out and let me know what to get or what to look for or what the deal is with this I would be greatly apreciated of this.

Thanks in advanced

It seems odd to me that so much would go out on the brakes that would cost that much. You can buy another 90 bonnie for that much. Check out the salvage yard for parts and disable the ABS. It'* not that hard of a job to change the master cylinder. Just going to take a while to bleed the brake lines.

i dont feel its worth that much either 2k is nuts but doing more research here and turns out im looking at a teves system i belive so im looking into that now that i found a direction hopefully i can solve this..

however i just got off the phone with him he had his son take it apart but felt it needed a new master cylinder because the brakes were hard!
that just threw me for a loop usualy when a master goes you have nothing or spongy brakes if the booster goes then they maybe hard but i dont think there is a booster on teves

so im reading more thanks to every one on this site i may be able to figure this out and thank to u to that is the direction im going i feel there is something at the jy we can use he thinks im wrong so i may have to step back and let him figure it out i was just trying to help him. hey if its 2 k to fix maybe hell take 500 for the car! and i can fix it for 16 bux!!!

Good luck. Putting that kind of money in to a old car is crazy.

i would never put 2k into a $800 car no way besides its not mine im just helping the guy if he listens to me ill save him a ton if not well see what he does he just dont have the time to research and hes not as mechanical as i am.. im thinking 50-100 bux tops to convert unless i can find the actual parts. he said there was only a se up at the jy and its not the same brake system so im going to figure out what i can do for him by tomarow if it takes me all night to research. SEMPERFI!

He was told that no other car had that teves system but thanks to u guys i found out that most h bodies from 88-91 had it as well as the buick reatta along with master cylinder rebuild kits that the dealership told him didnt exist but are sold here on the net that i found but not sure if its for the right thing. i have every thing from screwdrivers to tig welders so i can fab alot of stuff im sure i can do this just need to see it done and see how u guys did it if a guy at a dealership knows about it i know a site with people dedicated to the love of these car knows what to do! come on guys send me in the right direction if not ill keep reading.

we love our cars we love certain models or types weather were just seduced by them or we are re living a era of our life, if we like new or old, or we want to prove that our 20 year old car can be a daily driver and still kick the crap out of some rice eater that puls up to you reving there tin can muffeler and there 2.o with nothing more than a cai but we show them our american muscle still has what it takes and in some cases even after 20 years

i love that about my ford sc sory its not a gm, i am a gm guy but aquired this by price it was almost free but with just a few mods im just over 250rhp not to shaby for a daily thats older than most of the kids i race! and they laug since they have me by wieght untill i hit second and take the race back over.

now for me.. all this talk about these cars as i said i have a ford sc older 89 first year they made it i love it! what is the model of bonnie that is eqivilent a v6 3.8 with super charger or turbo? i have a 94 camaro with 3.4 i wish it had the 3.8 but i couldnt pass it up. or is it easy to put a sc on a bonnie or a turbo. or do they offer pre fabed turbo kits.. but if memory serves quite a few were stock super charged stock pointe me in the right direction want to stay under 3k thoug if posible.

ny way thanks peeps send me in the right direction i want a sse and then one more car after that to comlete my list and this is weird to some of ya but want a alfa romao milano with the 3.o 6 with the live rear axle i know wierd but i want it and i want to make it look like a italian police car.
