Default 1990 SSE Hi Beams Lights stay on

When I have my high beam lights attached and I shut the engine off the High beam lights stay on even when I haven't activated them. As a result I have had to disconnect the high beams or it would have killed my Battery and made a few drivers a night a little angry. Any idea where the problem is? Could it be a relay?

Default beams

I would suspect a fault in the column switch as it sends power to the relay signal wire on and off.
It could be a stuck relay and it is easier just to unplug and replace it and see if the lights go off. You could swap it with one of the other working relays just as a test.
If it doesn't work, probe the signal wire from the switch to see if its stuck holding 12v to the relay.

How long have you had the car? It sounds like a problem with the Twilight Sentinel & or high/low beam switch. Have you tried turning twilight sentinel off?

No relay, just the switch. Try unplugging the twilight sentinel module.

Does the DRL do the high beams or low?

Any idea how to take the steering column off and where to look to find this relay?
