plastic vents on dashboard cracking ( how to fix)
if you have a problem with the 87 -91 bonneville vent popping up and making your dash look inappropriate, heres the fix, take off the piece around the edges where its popping up, take a lighter, heat up the clips that hold it in while its still hot, take a screwdriver, (flathead) and press the clips further towards the outside, do around the perimeter and let cool , stick back in and bam, youve got your dash looking good again

Any other ideas out there on this topic?
I considered plastic weld, is that any good? Jr, what exactly are dashmats? I'm sure there are alot of options. Any other clever ideas out there?
TIA

Interesting idea...
Its not like putting plush burburs on your dash is it jr?
Do you have a picture of it on your dash in your 91? Might be a bit easy to see it.
The concept is pretty cool.

I just checked out the defroster vent in my dash, and it turns out that the dash itself is warped around the opening. :?
Before I noticed that though, I tried the heating up/bending method on the insert, and it worked okay. Mine wouldn't bend until they were bubbling and smoking, but they squished over okay then. I can see how it would make all the difference if the dash was in good shape, but mine is beyond that.
