What years seats will fit on a 1990 bonneville? The driver seat is power but its broken pretty bad and wobbles alot. Thanks in advance.


BTW, the problem with my car was the fuel pump. I ended up getting a new car, but I did fix the bonneville for my winter beater, and want to get the seat fixed. Thanks.

I take it its a power leather seat from an SSE? Then you need a power leather seat from any 88-91 SSE.

Yes, el-capetan is correct. However, if you have a power seated LE/SE, then an SSE seat would be different. I'm not sure how many adjustments the LE/SE seats had, but it wasn't as many as the SSE, and the adjustments are located on the side of the seat, versus in the center console. Your trim level would help .

Also, you say your seat is wobbly. By that, do you mean the entire seat, just the back, etc. If you pick up a new seat, and have an SSE, grab one from the passenger'* side. More than likely, it will have less wear.

Apparently 1992-1999 seats just might work. I remember some guy had '97 (I think) SSEi seats in his '88-'91 SSE (and a much upgraded interior through the GM parts bin, for that matter), but that was a LONG while ago and I don't remember any of the specific details.

Yes, I wanted to say that too. I also believe that the 92-99 seats are compatable with the 87-91, but they look different.

Just to let you know justin, the LE power seats have 8 way adjustment, and the switches are on the front corner by the door, not the side. The only switch on the side is the power recline.

As far as the wobbly seats, mine were too. Go into the back seat and look under the a$$ cushion. You may have to do it by feel, but there should be 4 like 13mm nuts under there. Those are the seat frame to seat bottom bolts. IDK how they come loose, but a few of mine were like way backed out. I tightened them up and no more problems. Also, any seat from a 87 to a 99 should fit, even though you might have to change the tracks or something. Seats from any H body should fit, like a lesabre or something.

the 1988 SSE seats were different from the 1989-1991 seats, as the power functions were on the seat, and the lumbar and headrest controls were on the console. they moved them all on the console in 89.

Sorry man, you aren't going to prove me wrong on this one. I know for a FACT that 88 had them on the console just like in 89. Seen two or three 88 SSEs that had them on the console.

EDIT: Upon doing a little searching, I did find what you meant with the different controls. However, I still stand behind my statement in that I have seen two or three 88s that have the same controls like in 89.

i dont know how thats possible as the 89 had a completely different console. nothing was kept the same on it. just like how the steering wheels are different on the 88 from the 89
