See it happen a couple of times. This happens if you IGNORE the Low Oil Pressure Alarm & continue driving the engine hard. First the bearing goes, then the rod blows apart from the crank when the bearing finally seizes up unto the crankshaft journal.
It MUST have been "Knocking" beforehand, but owner might have chosen to ignore it or didn't recognize it knocking. Most usually catch it before this happens. The usual fix was a new rebuilt crank kit & new/used conn. rod.
