Default Rear Brake Shoes

As we age, we tend to make funny cracking, squeeling and squeaking noise. That being said, my rear driver side brakes seem to squeak at low speeds.

Its either 1. Time for new brake shoes. 2. Rusty drums. 3. Moisture 4. Lack of lubrication.

I have lots of brake fluid in the reservior, and there is no leaking anywhere. FYI, no ABS and drum brakes in the back.

I'm not to worried about it at this point, but some input might help, after all knowledge is power!!

very simple to check. Pull a wheel and remove the star clips if they're still there. If not there, simply pull your drum off and see how thin the shoes are.

I plan on doing my spring tune up, tire rotation, t-stat installation, oil change next month, so I will get my Midas boys to have a look at her. As well as the rear brakes

In the meantime I'm going to throw in a K&N filter into the stock box. Or should I wait for the ADTR intake?

Yep my brothers old Bonny (note this is his 3rd Bonny started out a Green SE, then switched to a White SSE but it got totaled, and now a Red SSEi), he was throwing a code for the brakes, he had a leak, also it would like make this hard shaking when he would brake.

How come the Bonny'* never had rotors in the rear, my brothers SHO and it'* a 90 does, but his braking sucks. Small rotors. Just wondering why they never made that standard for a big safe sedan.

Most of the other H bodies aren't built for performance. When the Bonneville gets built, they use the standard 'H' chassis. That'* why we share the 'wimpy' rear brakes. The 2000+ models have 4 wheel disc now.
