Default 89 sse ABS question

Ok i just bought my 2000 and i am no going to be driving 500 miles a week just for school and dont want to put that all on the new car, so im going to buy a older car for that. my question is im look at a 89 sse http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...406283743&rd=1
that has ABS problems, it looks like a good car and i know it will run for at least 50xxx but i dont want to have to put alot of money in to getting the brakes fixed. Does anyone know of common problems that it could be or is it just to expensive to fix abs systems?

Haven't voted yet, cuz your link is dead. ABS can be reasonbly priced to fix, or can easily go well over 2k. No telling. I'd shy away from it for a car with good ABS considering where you live.

i asked him what was wrong and he said its the ABS pump and that it was about a 250.00 part at auto zone. The thing is im not sure if this is a do it yourself kinda job because for 250.00 its not bad. the car had a rebuilt tranny too that was another good point of it and was repainted

This is a DIY job if you've ever bled your own brakes. If you're comfortable with that, I'll talk you through it. I've done 2 of those.

Double-check the AutoZone price. The Antilock braking systems on the 87-90 bonnevilles use the goofy pressurized cylinder, which I think can cost around $1500.

I must have been thinking about the entire hydraulic unit, sorry!

I know those cars have this pressurized reservoir that collects pressure, like 2500psi.

Our experiences show that it'* normally not the control module. Does someone live nearby that has a similar car? The EBCM is easy to swap and check. It'* probably the PMV. Assuming it isn't a wheel speed sensor, the PMV becomes the most likely culprit.
