I don't believe it does.. Can't say for sure if it monitors the resistance on the Solenoid tho... Those are the only 2 wires I have ever seen revolving around the EGR on the 87 Bonneville

In retrospect I should have done all three I guess. I'm sure it would have been cheaper than the extra I've paid for gas.

I don't recommend running without the EGR, But on the LG3 you can leave the Solenoid plugged in and plug the Vac line to the EGR.... But keep in mind its possible for the EGR to be stuck open... If it is you'll have more issues..
Its either the EGR or the Solenoid that controls the EGR... Sounds like you need some Vac testing to actuate the EGR
